CLEANING & CARE FOR WOOD FLOORS
No matter which room it is installed in, the unmatched appearance of a solid wood floor adds an especially cozy atmosphere to any space. To ensure you enjoy your FEEL WOOD floor for a long time, please note that oiled wood floors need regular maintenance - typically once a year in residential areas and multiple times for heavily used areas in commercial spaces.
Initial Care Right After Installation
FEEL WOOD solid wood planks are primarily delivered with a pre-finished surface – for example, natural oil finish. On the construction site and during installation, it's natural for some dirt to accumulate. To ensure that you enjoy your FEEL WOOD solid wood floor to the fullest, to give the floor a perfect appearance in your new home, and to accentuate its natural beauty, we recommend a simple initial care right after installation:
1. Dry Cleaning
Start by performing dry cleaning using a powerful vacuum cleaner. For dirt that might accumulate during installation or in a construction site environment, damp cleaning is also recommended.
2. Damp Cleaning with FEEL WOOD Wood Floor Soap
Add approximately 50 ml (1/2 yogurt cup) of FEEL WOOD Wood Floor Soap to five liters of water. Using this solution and a well-wrung cotton cloth, wipe the floor thoroughly. For larger areas or heavy soiling, use two buckets so that you can rinse the soiled cloth in clear water before reapplying the soapy solution as protection back onto the floor. The floor must be completely dry before proceeding to the next step of re-oiling – allow approximately eight hours for drying!
3. Re-Oiling with FEEL WOOD Care Oil
Using a floor mop, distribute and blend FEEL WOOD Care Oil. Since the floor has already been oiled at the factory, it will absorb very little oil – this step primarily involves enhancing the visual effect of a new floor.
Caution: Let cloths, paper towels, sponges, etc., soaked with FEEL WOOD Care Oil, dry out spread or keep them tightly sealed in a metal container until they are fully dry. There is a risk of spontaneous combustion due to the oxidative drying nature of the oils!

Regular Maintenance and Cleaning
Depending on the level of usage, a naturally oiled wood floor in residential areas should undergo thorough maintenance at least once a year, in addition to routine cleaning. For heavily used areas in commercial spaces, this maintenance interval should be shortened.

Without a polishing machine: Drop FEEL WOOD Care Oil onto the area to be treated or spray it using a pump sprayer. Then evenly distribute it in the direction of the planks using a floor mop. Allow it to dry without polishing. Note the slightly longer drying time of approximately twelve to 14 hours.
With a Polishing Machine: Fill FEEL WOOD Care Oil into a pump sprayer. Then spray the care oil onto the floor, distribute and polish it streak-free with a polishing machine and a white pad. The drying time after this process is about six to eight hours. With 750 ml of care oil, you can treat an area of approximately 35 m².
