* Determined durability value based on laboratory tests or empirical data according to prEN 350:2014.
Material Properties
There are several wood species from which dark substances are leached after prolonged exposure to weathering. Dirt is also loosened and washed away from the surface of terrace coverings. To avoid soiling of facades, for example, under balconies, terraces over garages, etc., proper drainage must be ensured (e.g., rain gutters, balcony drains, downpipes, etc.).
Color Variations
Color variations are mitigated when used in outdoor areas due to the effects of UV radiation and weathering, resulting in a pleasant silver-gray patina. Grayness can be delayed through treatment with pigmented oils and stains or maintained in the desired color with regular treatment (1 - 2 times per year).
Resistance Classes
The resistance classes describe or classify the inherent durability of wood against wood-degrading fungi, insects, termites, or other wood pests. The resistance classes (also known as durability classes) are scaled from 1 (very durable) to 5 (not durable).
