CLEANING & CARE OF WOODEN TERRACES
Weather conditions and daily usage can lead to unwanted marks on the wooden planks of your wooden terrace? Then it's time for a thorough terrace cleaning. With regular usage, you should clean the terrace once in the spring. Before you bring out your garden furniture, follow a few simple steps to revitalize your wooden terrace for the season.
Important - For wooden planks on terraces and balconies, avoid using a traditional high-pressure cleaner for terrace cleaning, as the forceful water jet can do more harm than good by causing the wood to splinter. Our SECA consultation team will guide you on the best approach to remove superficial gray haze (patina) from your terrace and prevent wood cracks.

Cleaning the terrace is as easy as this
- Clean the wooden terrace with a broom to remove coarse dirt. Depending on the type of wood, consider the bristles of the broom. Use a broom with softer bristles if you're cleaning softwoods like larch or Douglas fir.
- Thoroughly wet the terrace.
- Add about 1/4 liter of Naturhaus Holzfrisch Terrace Cleaner to 5 liters of water and spray it using a pressure sprayer.
- Machine Cleaning: After a waiting time of approximately 15 minutes, use a terrace cleaning device called "Terrassenboy" to brush the surface – keep the area wet |
Manual Cleaning: Let the deep cleaner sit, then use a Terrassenbürste to brush along the grain of the wooden planks. - Rinse off.
- Allow it to dry and use the Osmo Terrace Painting Set and the appropriate oils for each wood type to oil in the direction of the planks. Do not oil under direct sunlight. The finish will make your terrace look new again and eliminate the patina.
